I suddenly changed my mind about capital punishment. There's no note left by the offender.
Luckily there's no other damage than the mirror, and due to the plentifulness of Peugeot parts I doubt this will cost me more then €15. It still sucks though.
The Peugeot was parked very closely to the curb and since it's narrower than your average other car I find it surprising this happened.
Here it is, parked in a similar spot before being molested.

I don't normally agree with medieval methods but in this case, I do believe such a crime in ye olde days would result in the forceful removing of toenails. I have a sneaking suspicion the culprit would never do this again once you remove all their toenails. Also they'd catch a case of the plagues and rot in their hovel. Leaving you to drive around in your GTI, content that justice has been served.

I'm going to blame this jackass who's parked facing the wrong direction.

That sucks. At least it's hopefully a cheap and easy fix. If I had to venture a guess, it was probably a guy on a bicycle.

Asshole. Glad it's a cheap fix...

I think that's a good guess. You really have to be swerving to do this with a car.

I'm glad they didnt dent your body or break a window. No note? If I did that I would not be able to sleep at night. I love 205's btw. Hot hatches rule.

Man, that is terrible! At least you can get parts easily. I brought two sets of mirrors for my car across the pond.
I have been away from Oppo and Jalopnik for over a month as I went through the move, but I am now settled in my new home in Virginia, with my 205 in the garage! Tomorrow I am taking the car to the DMV and getting Virginia license plates. I hope to soon do a write up here on Oppo on bringing the little French car to the US.
Driving the car here is quite different than in Germany. I find that people either are completely indifferent to the car (just another 80's hatchback), or really love it. I even had two French tourists almost jump in front of my car to ask me about it, they were astonished to see a GTI in the US.
I was wondering if you have the web address to that huge 205 junk yard you guys have in the Netherlands? And when are you going by there again, I might need you to scout some parts for me...

It's been a while! I look forward to seeing the writeup!
The address of that 205 junkyard is http://www.peugeot205totaal.nl/
I'm not sure if/when I'm going back there. I'm not going to get a mirror there, mirrors are too plentiful as they aren't GTI specific. Which parts do you need?

Man that is a good looking car. If it has been sold on this side of the pond I could see myself driving one.

It's not nearly as good looking as it is fun to drive though. It's brilliant.
